A couple years ago, before I started this blog.. I used to LOVE computer games. I wouldn't play them often, but when I wanted to relax in between bottles and laundry when my kids were napping.. I would partake in a game or two. :)
My favorite games were from Big Fish mostly - yes, I confess am a Diner Dash and Wedding Dash ( got to the end of that one!) fan! Before all these games that you could buy for your computer, I also was always a fan of the solitaire games that were default on most computers.. both the regular solitaire and Spider Solitaire.
So, when I got the chance to review a new game from Big Fish called Fairway Solitaire I was super excited...both about the game AND an excuse to HAVE to play a game. ;) Here is a video with the funny commentators and a little sneak peak at how the game works:
So, I downloaded the game onto my iPod after I pried it away from my 2 year old's hands... it starts with a little story about the history of gophers and golf and how they don't mix very well. Very cute intro but a little long. The first 3 games are a trial run where the golf announcer tells you how the game works. In my opinion the game is a cross between regular solitaire and spider solitaire so I LOVED it. My kind of game!
After you complete the first 3 games (which is the first level) you are ready to play! The little gopher guy comes back and has a maniacal laugh... then fades back into the game. I cant help but wonder what more of a pesky role the gopher plays in the rest of the game.
I like the concept of "Fairway" solitaire - there are cards under water and in sand, you can earn free drivers and clubs that help get certain cards out of sticky situations. In all honesty, I want to go back and play the game more right now! I must b.e.a.t. the game!
Want to try the game out for free? Click HERE for iPod/iPhone or HERE for iPad users. Sorry, the game is not yet available for android or PC just yet!
Have fun on the front nine! Or is it back 9? Eh, enjoy all 18 holes!
