Well, 2013 is my 4th year of couponing..and by now I pretty much have a good idea what to expect coupon wise for January. I think this may be helpful especially for any of the new couponers we have! So, lets get started.
January is all about 3 things: organization (plus back to school), dieting & getting healthy and saving money.
In January you can expect coupons for stationery items like pens and markers, and coupons for things like Post-Its. This is because people are getting organized AND because second semesters of college start and students need new school supplies!
You will also see the sales in stores on organization items, like storage totes and storage containers (look for coupons on these too!)many of which may have a store coupon to pair with it.
This is the biggest category for January by far! The healthy options coupons will flow throughout January from diet foods, to diet drinks, bars, cereals and ready to eat meals. We will see printables, store sales to match and many many coupons in the Sunday Papers. If ever there was a time to buy multiple papers, January is the month! Now, this year January 1st is in the middle of the week, so, we won't see the huge quantities of coupons in the paper until the 6th. I also noticed the stores downplayed the dieting product sales in store flyers a little bit. Most companies budgets reset on the 1st.. I guarantee the ads starting 1/6 will look like a fitness and diet ad.
As far as getting healthy, each January a ton of dental hygiene coupons come out along with first aid products. Usually SC Johnson leads the pack with coupons for Reach, listerine etc, and red cross first aid kits. Plus, they tend to release their bath products/baby products coupons too.. Desitin, Johnson and Johnson shampoo etc.
By the end of January we will begin to see coupons for snacky type foods perfect for the Super Bowl, so keep that in mind!
Well, this is where I come in! If you are new to the site welcome and if you have been here since the beginning, God Bless You. I intend to try a few different things this year on my site and can't wait to get started. There are so many cookie cutter blogs out there but I want MyCNYMommy to be something a little special. A place for CNY moms (and Dads!) and grandmas and aunts and uncles... to save money and read a little about the life of a CNY mom. Along the way I hope to give everyone the tools you need to help your family budget better, save more and ultimately use your hard earned money on spending time with your family. Isn't this what we all want? I know I do. :)
