It's time again to start planning our Family Activities in CNY - this time for November. From the opening of Lights on the Lake to the Turkey Trot Walk - November in CNY has so much to offer! This month I have included a few adult only activities to get you in the feeling of the season!
I will be adding to the list throughout the month as I am made aware of more activities! So far, here is a list of things to do:
Squishing of the Squash - Rosamond Gifford Zoo 10am-3pm
What happens to the pumpkins when Zoo Boo is over? The squash get squished! Watch as animals throughout the zoo stomp, romp and chomp pumpkins of varying sizes! Free with Zoo Admission.
Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast - Beaver Lake Nature Center 9am-12pm
Enjoy seasonal pumpkin (or regular) pancakes, sausage, and fresh brewed coffee or juice. Depending on your appetite, breakfast will range from $3 to $5. Visitors, including groups, are served and seated on a first-come, first-serve basis.
NYS Craft Brewers Festival - Landmark Theatre 4pm-8pm (Regular Admission is at 5pm, VIP at 4)
The Craft New York Brewers Festival will bring together over 35+ New York Breweries (and brewers) from every region of the state featuring up to 80 hard to find and award winning beers. To make this very special event more exclusive, Taste NY has once again partnered with the New York State Brewers Association and will feature food sampling and pairing from local Syracuse restaurants and food vendors to go along with each brewery attending at no extra cost!

November 7th -8th
Great New York State Model Train Fair 10-5pm Sat; 10-4 Sun
The 41st Annual Great New York State Model Train Fair will be held at the Empire Expo Center/State Fairgrounds. This is one of the Northeast's premier model train shows with 100+ vendors and 30+ operating layouts. Sponsored by CNY Chapter, National Railway Historical Society. Lights on the Lake Stroll - Onondaga Lake Park 5pm-9pm
Visitors can choose to park at either the Wegmans Landing, Salt Museum or Willow Bay lots. This is a great opportunity to get some fresh air and exercise. Walkers can cover as much of the two mile stretch as they desire and should dress for the weather. Shuttle service is not provided. Holiday characters will be on the trail and refreshments will be available for sale. Cars are not allowed on the trail for this special evening but will be admitted to the show beginning Wednesday, November 11.

Dogs (and their parents) are welcome to enjoy this special walking preview of Lights on the Lake before it opens to vehicles only. The park will be open from 5-9pm and visitors can choose to park at either the Wegmans Landing, Salt Museum or Willow Bay lots. This is a great opportunity to get some fresh air and exercise. Now in its 26th year, Wegmans Lights on the Lake is a two mile long DRIVE-THRU.
Admission: $10 car Mon-Thursday; $15 per car Fri-Sun ($6 per vehicle with a Wegmans Shoppers Club Card on Monday & Tuesday)
Syracuse Crunch Lego Night presented by Bricks4Kidz - War Memorial 7pm

Jingle Bell Run for Athritis - Onondaga Lake Park 11-3pm
Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis is a fun and festive way to kick off your holidays by helping others! Wear a holiday themed costume. Tie jingle bells to your shoelaces. Raise funds to help find a cure for arthritis, the nation's leading cause of disability. Run or walk a 5 kilometer route with your team members and celebrate the season by giving.
Admission is $25-$35.

Snap N Play Pictures with Santa - KidzClub Phoenix 5-8pm
Christmas Snap & Play is BACK! It is special open play hours with your pictures taken with Santa & Mrs. Claus. The best thing about snap n play is that you can play while waiting for your turn! No boring wait in the long lines at the mall! You will be given a heads up when you are on deck so that you can make any last minute outfit adjustments, etc.
The photos will be uploaded into an online album. You will be given a photo release so that you can have them printed out at the place of your choosing.
Cost is $12 per child. No charge for adults. Presale Tickets are required and are now available.
